Slow Downs

Background Check Expiration
Background check results are only valid for 90 days. If the application is not completed within this window, the check must be reprocessed at the applicant's expense.
Incomplete Transcripts
Applications are often delayed because transcripts are not sent directly from the university or do not show the degree conferred.
Fingerprint Rejection
Poor quality fingerprints may be rejected by the FBI or LSP, requiring the applicant to reschedule and re-submit prints.
Missing Licensure Verifications
For reciprocity applicants, failure to obtain official verifications from all previous states of licensure is a frequent cause of delay.
