How to Apply

Obtain CDR Registration ▾Complete your ACEND-accredited education and supervised practice, then pass the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) exam to become a Registered Dietitian (RD).

Create an ALMS Account ▾Register for an account on the Maine Regulatory Licensing & Permitting (ALMS) portal to begin your state application.

Submit Online Application ▾Complete the online application for 'Licensed Dietitian'. You will need to upload required documentation such as your CDR card.

Pay Application and Background Fees ▾Pay the $150 license fee and the $21 criminal history records check fee (total $171) through the online portal.

Requirements ▾
Maine provides licensure by endorsement for applicants holding a substantially equivalent license in another state or holding active registration as a Registered Dietitian with the CDR. A verification of licensure from the other state(s) must be provided.
