How to Apply

  1. Obtain Limited License ▾
    Before starting your Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in Maryland, you must apply for and receive a Limited License. This requires a supervisory plan and a master's degree.
  2. Complete Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) ▾
    Complete a minimum of 9 months (30 hours/week) of supervised professional practice. If part-time, the duration is extended accordingly.
  3. Pass the Praxis Exam ▾
    Take and pass the Praxis Speech-Language Pathology exam (test code 5331). Ensure scores are sent to the Maryland Board using code R7400.

    Submit fingerprints for a state and federal background check. Use the pre-filled LiveScan form provided by the Board for Maryland locations.

    After submitting your application, you will receive a link to an open-book online exam covering Maryland statutes and regulations. A score of 75% or higher is required.
  6. Submit Full License Application ▾
