Slow Downs

Background Check Processing
CJIS background checks can take several weeks. Avoid delays by using the Board's specific LiveScan form and codes.
Missing Praxis Scores
Scores must be sent electronically via ETS. Failure to use the Maryland Board code (R7400) will prevent the Board from viewing your results.
Incomplete Law Exam
The license will not be issued until the Law and Regulations Exam is passed. Check your email for the link after submitting your application.
Transcript Conferral Date
Applications are often submitted before the degree is officially conferred on the transcript. The Board cannot approve the license until the conferred date is visible.
