How to Apply

  1. Graduate from an Accredited Program ▾
    Complete an occupational therapy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).

  2. Pass the NBCOT Exam ▾
    Register for and pass the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) OTR examination.

  3. Register for Fingerprinting ▾
    Register with the Missouri Automated Criminal History Site (MACHS) using the 4-digit registration code 6351 for Occupational Therapy.

  4. Complete the Jurisprudence Exam ▾
    Complete the open-book Missouri Occupational Therapist Jurisprudence Exam based on state rules and statutes. A score of 80% is required.
  5. Submit Application and Fee ▾
    Complete the Application for Licensure and submit it along with the $30 fee (for OTs) to the Board office.

    Request official transcripts from your university and a Verification of Certification letter from NBCOT to be sent directly to the Board.
