How to Apply

  1. Complete Education ▾
    Obtain a Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from a program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA).

  2. Pass the Praxis Exam ▾
    Take and pass the Praxis Subject Assessment in Speech-Language Pathology (test code 5331) with a minimum score of 162. Ensure scores are sent to the Nebraska Board (code 7646).

  3. Apply for Temporary License ▾
    If you are starting your Clinical Fellowship (CF), you must apply for a temporary license to practice legally in Nebraska.

  4. Complete Clinical Fellowship ▾
    Complete 36 weeks of full-time professional experience (or equivalent part-time) under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
  5. Submit Full Licensure Application ▾
    Complete the paper application for full licensure. Select 'Education' if applying for the first time or 'Endorsement' if you hold ASHA CCC or an out-of-state license.

    Undergo a criminal background check via the Nebraska State Patrol. You must pay a $15.50 fee to the State Patrol for the state-level check.
