How to Apply
Complete Educational Requirements

Obtain a bachelor's degree or higher in dietetics, nutrition, or a closely related field from a program registered with NYSED or accredited by ACEND.
Complete Supervised Experience
▾
Complete at least 800 hours of planned work experience in dietetics and nutrition under the supervision of a certified or registered dietitian-nutritionist.
Pass the Certification Examination
▾
Pass the Registration Examination for Dietitians administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or the Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) exam.
Submit Application Form 1

Complete the online Application for Certification (Form 1) and pay the $294 fee.
Submit Supporting Forms

Have your school submit Form 2 (Education) and your supervisor submit Form 3 (Experience) directly to the Office of the Professions.
