Complete Education Requirements ▾Earn a Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from a program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) or a New York State registered program.

Pass the Praxis Exam ▾Register for and pass the Praxis Speech-Language Pathology exam (test code 5331) with a minimum score of 162. Ensure scores are sent to NYSED using recipient code R7747.

Complete Supervised Experience ▾Complete 36 weeks of full-time (or part-time equivalent) supervised professional experience (Clinical Fellowship) after completing all degree requirements.

Requirements ▾
New York does not have formal reciprocity agreements or participate in the ASLP Interstate Compact. Out-of-state SLPs must apply for full New York licensure and meet all state-specific requirements. ASHA CCC-SLP holders must still submit all required forms and documentation to NYSED.
