What You'll Need

How to Apply

Complete Approved Training ▾Enroll in and successfully complete a Utah Nursing Assistant Registry (UNAR) approved training program consisting of at least 100 hours (76 classroom/lab and 24 clinical).

Activate TMU Account ▾Once training is complete, your instructor will upload your information to the TestMaster Universe (TMU) system. You will receive an email to activate your account.

Pay Exam Fees ▾Log into your TMU account to pay the required testing fees ($55 for Knowledge Exam and $55 for Skills Exam).

Schedule State Exams ▾After payment, select a testing site and date through the TMU portal. You must pass both exams within one year of completing your training.

Pass Competency Evaluation ▾Take the Written Knowledge Exam (75 questions) and the Manual Skills Exam (5 randomly selected skills). You must score at least 75% on the written and pass all key steps on the skills exam.

Receive Certification ▾Upon passing both exams, your name is added to the Utah Nurse Aide Registry. A certificate and wallet card will be mailed to you within 7-10 business days.
