What You'll Need

How to Apply

Complete Approved Training ▾Successfully complete a Wyoming state-approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) consisting of at least 75 hours, including 16 clinical hours.

Create Nurse Portal Account ▾Register for an account on the Wyoming State Board of Nursing (WSBN) Nurse Portal. This portal is used for all applications, renewals, and status tracking.

Submit Application and Fees ▾Complete the 'CNA by Examination' application within the portal and pay the non-refundable $60 application fee.

Submit Fingerprint Cards ▾Obtain two blue FBI fingerprint cards from a local law enforcement agency. Mail them to the WSBN office along with the $60 background check fee.

Register for the Exam ▾Once the Board approves your application, you will receive eligibility to test. Register and pay for the NNAAP exam through D&S Diversified Technologies (Headmaster).

Pass the Competency Exam ▾Successfully pass both the written (knowledge) and skills portions of the exam. Results are typically uploaded to the Board within 24-48 hours.

How often do I need to renew my Wyoming CNA certification?

CNA certifications must be renewed biennially (every two years) in even-numbered years. The renewal window is October 1st through December 31st.
What are the continuing education (CE) requirements for renewal?

Requirements are based on hours worked in the last 2 years: 400+ hours requires 0 CE; 200-400 hours requires 15 CE; fewer than 200 hours requires 30 CE.
Can I work while my application is being processed?
