How to Apply

Complete Education ▾Graduate from a respiratory care educational program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
Find Accredited Programs -
Pass National Examination ▾Successfully pass the Therapist Multiple-Choice (TMC) Examination to earn the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC.
Register for Exam -
Download and Complete Application ▾Download the Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner Application packet from the Board's website. Complete all sections, including the Proof of Lawful Presence form.

Submit Fingerprints ▾Obtain two (2) FD-258 fingerprint cards. You can request these from the Board or local law enforcement. Complete the prints and submit them with your application for a criminal background check.
